Scheduled Maintenance

When you purchase your new Ford vehicle, you receive a list of scheduled maintenance intervals and the services that will be performed at each appointment. These intervals start at 10,000 miles and repeat in 10,000-mile increments until you reach 40,000 miles, when they repeat in 20,000-mile increments up to 100,000.

Tires

Your vehicle’s tires are rated to last thousands of miles. However, tire-piercing debris on the road, uneven wear, and any number of situations can cause your tires to break down faster. Your tires will be checked at the scheduled maintenance appointments, but you should check your tire’s air pressure once a month.

Oil

Oil can be equated to your vehicle’s lifeblood. It reduces friction and helps your engine run smoothly. It also picks up debris, such as metal shavings, and moves it into the oil filter, where it is trapped. Oil also helps with engine temperature regulation, keeping it from overheating or poor performance. Your oil will be changed, your oil filter will be changed, and the oil gaskets will be checked at the scheduled maintenance appointments.

Belts, Hoses, and Filters

Many belts, hoses, and filters throughout your vehicle should be inspected for loose fits, material integrity, and clogging. To name a few, there is an engine air filter, a cabin air filter, coolant hoses, and serpentine belts that power alternators and water pumps. Filters can become clogged, decreasing your vehicle’s performance. If not monitored, they can be easily overlooked.

Brakes and Exhaust

Brake pads and rotors need to be examined for corrosion or lack of surfacing. The exhaust system and heat shield need to be examined for material integrity. These are inspected at the scheduled maintenance appointments.

Fluids

Your vehicle has many fluids that must be checked, topped off, and/or replaced. In addition to the oil listed above, there is transmission fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and coolant. These are all inspected at the scheduled maintenance appointments.
