Located just 40 miles southeast of Eveleth and covering an area of over 325,000 acres, Cloquet Valley State Forest is home to numerous different species of birds and mammals including great horned owls, bald eagles, common loons, black-capped chickadees, white-tailed deer, foxes, and lynx. A popular destination among wildlife watchers and photographers, this place can be reached in about 45 minutes by car via Vermilion Trail.
