Everyone needs their caffeine, and if you’re tired of the chains that serve the same, sugar and corn-syrup-filled drinks every day, it’s time to move on. Some of the local coffee shops here in Eveleth, MN offer a truly gourmet experience if you’re ready to step up your game.

Coffee on Main

This is such an elegant little space. It’s an awesome place to have a quiet conversation with friends, get some work done, or just watch the world go by. And the coffee is fantastic, as is the service. If you have a dairy allergy, this is a great place to stop, too. They have a lot of options for you and work hard to ensure they all taste great. Their beans are roasted and shipped on the same day to make sure every cup is as fresh as possible.

Most of their specialty drinks can be ordered hot, over ice, or blended. We love the Double L, which is butterscotch, amaretto, white chocolate, and a toasted marshmallow. The peanut butter and coconut latte is amazing, and their spiced chai latte will keep you coming back over and over. Their standard cold brew, drip, and regular espresso drinks are always spot on. They have baked goods from nearby Pep’s bakery that you’ll enjoy, too, and a fantastic gluten-free lemon tart.

Kunnari’s Farm Market

Obviously, this is a place you go to for farm-fresh produce and great pies, but it’s also a nice place to stop for delicious coffee and great breakfast and lunch options. If it’s the food you’re after, try their breakfast bake, which is two farm-fresh eggs over potatoes with ham and cheese. Their pancakes come in apple cinnamon, blueberry, or raspberry, too…

However, it’s the coffee we’re all here for, and this is one of the best places in town for a really nice cuppa. We love their mocha, which comes with steamed milk, your choice of chocolate, espresso, and their delicious whipped cream and drizzle. They have great macchiatos, lattes, and cappuccinos, but they also gave some specialty coffees you ought to try. The Gibraltar is an espresso drink much like a latte, but the coffee to milk ratio is a lot higher, meaning stronger espresso flavor and punch.

Caribou Coffee

Caribou is a regional chain that’s a great alternative to the bigger national chains. They go out of their way to offer a small-town experience, with great coffee drinks, good food, a nice place to sit, and even bagged beans you can take home.  

Our favorite things to drink here include anything in their nitro line. The nitro sweet Thai latte is a unique experience you’ll love. Their campfire mocha is a delicious treat if you want something sweet, but we’re very fond of their Depth Charge: hot, fresh coffee freshly brewed and spiked with a shot of espresso. That’ll keep you awake!
